The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) on Saturday extended greetings and wishes to the people of Manipur as the state celebrated the 51st Statehood Day 2023 on Saturday.
“MPCC greets the people of Manipur on the 51st Statehood Day. On this day in 1972, Manipur became a full-fledged state. MPCC wishes the people of the state a progressive and prosperous Manipur," the MPCC tweeted.
Manipur, along with Meghalaya and Tripura became a full-fledged states of India on this day, January 21, 1972. Joining in the celebration, national party leaders also extended greetings to the people of the state.
"Best wishes to the people of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura on their respective statehood day. Their rich history and vibrant culture are the pride of India, which we must cherish and nurture," party leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted.
In another tweet, Rahul said: "My wishes to friends in Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura on their respective Statehood day. These jewels from the North Eastern part of our country are a source of much pride for all of us. I hope the beautiful people from these states thrive and prosper".
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also extended greetings to the people of the three states in a tweet: "My warmest wishes to the people of Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya, the three states celebrating their statehood day".
