INDIA Bloc, Manipur has questioned if Chief Minister N Biren Singh is pulling the strings of Civil Society Organisations in Manipur with bloc convenor Ksh Shanta alleging the chief minister of spreading falsehood and that he is a liar.

Speaking to the media at a press meet held on Sunday at the Congress Bhawan, Ksh Shanta said that today (June 29) is the anniversary of CM’s resignation drama day when a number of womenfolk gathered at secure (green) zone.

Shanta also said that the CM had not called an all-political party meeting but that they met after getting appointment. So, the CM misinformed the general public and said he called all political party meeting, which is not, Shanta added.

“CM’s exclusion from recent meetings with top bureaucrats and military officials, including Amit Shah indicates his diminishing influence due to misinformation spread among public”, Shanta said.

INDIA Bloc as well as other political party leaders including BJP itself demanded to meet PM but the chief minister intent to meet PM only with his favourite MLAs, only with MLAs aligned with him, said Shanta.
Moreover, Shanta also raised suspicions on CM stating whether he is exerting control over civil society organisations and student bodies in the state.

He also disclosed that while INDIA Bloc leaders met the Governor of Manipur, she was informed about the PM's busy schedule at least.

CM is afraid of central leaders. He wants to divide political parties and he has done nothing of whatever he said he would do. He is a liar, Shanta said.

CPI leader Sotinkumar criticised PM’s silence on the Manipur issue and described the elections as a setback for the ruling BJP and its allies in the NDA.
