The District Health Society Kakching observed International Day of Older Persons 2022 at the multipurpose hall of Kha Manipur College Kakching on Wednesday.
DC Kakching Somorjit Salam attended the event as chief guest, CMO, Mission Director, DHS Kakching Th Rajen as president, while caretaker principal, Kha Manipur College Kakching Yengkhom Raju took part as a guest of honour. Several senior citizens also took part in the event.
DC Kakching while delivering his chief guest speech asserted the importance of looking after elder folks with care by the younger generations. Later, shawls were presented to senior citizens who took part in the event.
Free health check-ups for older persons were also conducted and medicines were distributed free of costs.
