NDA Cadets Parents Welfare Association (NCPWA), Manipur on Thursday felicitated Indian Air Force, Squadron leader Mutum Sandip Singh, who participated in the “Operation Ganga Mission”.
Sharing some of his experience at his felicitation programme held at at Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak, Imphal, Mutum Sandip Singh said that the mission was so challenging but that it gave him immense satisfaction to serve people in the defence sector and in war-like situations. Due to the collective efforts by all team members of the mission, they could successfully carry out the evacuation process, he added.
“My first trip as a member of this mission was to transport Indian citizens from Romania while the last trip was from Poland. It was very emotional to see Indian citizens waiting for us eagerly. Seeing their smile when we reached there really motivated us and we even forgot all our exhaustion,” Sandip narrated while expressing his gratitude on being felicitated by NCPWA Manipur.
Attending the function as chief guest, Lt General retired, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM and YSM, Indian Army, Konsam Himalay Singh said that people of state have high potential in every field be it in sports, culture, arts and even in defence sector as well. Manipur contributes a high number of military officials, which is the pride of the state in the country, he said.
He said that conducting such felicitation is highly appreciable as it helps to encourage people who wished to be in defence service or who are in defence service.
Himalay Singh also congratulated Mutum Sandip Singh on taking part in the said mission while encouraging him to serve the nation at his best level whenever or wherever it is possible.
The other dignitaries who attended the function were president, NCPWA Manipur; former minister, Dr M Nara Singh and superintendent of prison, Central Jail Imphal, SK Bhadrika as president and guest of honour respectively.
It may be mentioned that Operation Ganga Mission was an evacuation operation carried out by the Government of India to evacuate Indian citizens from war-torn Ukraine.
