A one-day political discourse on Naga Peace Talks held on Friday at Senapati district reaffirmed support to the ‘Framework Agreement’ signed between the Government of India and the NSCN (I-M) at New Delhi on August 3, 2015.
The discourse was organised by the United Naga Council (UNC) and hosted by the Naga Peoples’ Organization (NPO) at Katomei village, Tahamzam, Senapati district headquarters on Friday, stated United Naga Council publicity wing in a statement on Sunday.
After serious deliberations in the second session of the programme and at the conclusion of the discourse, the house declared to urge the Government of India and the NSCN (I-M) to conclude the Naga political issue based on the ‘Framework Agreement’ of 2015 and the uniqueness of Naga history and situation at the earliest, it stated.
All the participants in unison raised their hands in approval and endorsed to support the decision of the Emergency National Assembly of May 31, of the NSCN (I-M), it mentioned.
The UNC, Manipur appeals to all the Naga public to stand united for the Naga political cause till the political solution is achieved, it stated.
The programme was participated by representatives of 20 Naga tribes hohos of Manipur including all district apex bodies of Chandel Naga People’s Organization, CNPO (Chandel), Joint Tribes’ Council, JTC (Tamenglong), Tangkhul Naga Long (Ukhrul) and Naga People’s Organization, NPO (Senapati), former presidents of UNC, Naga frontal organisations of Naga Women’s Union (NWU), All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM) and Naga People’s Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), South and also, Naga Parliamentarians, Religious Leaders, Political Leaders, Lawyers, Scholars and concerned Naga citizens from all walks of life, it added.
