MLA Kh Joykisan on Monday said the decision to join the BJP was taken after deliberate discussion among the JD-U MLAs of Manipur.
The MLA, who was among the five to join the BJP, told the media at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport that the JD-U MLAs were elected from NDA and wanted to get along with the NDA government. However, JD-U quit the NDA alliance at the Centre while we didn’t want to, he added.
The five Janata Dal (United) MLAs reached Imphal on Monday after attending a national executive meeting.

Among the five JD-U MLAs, MLA Md Achab Uddin did not reach Imphal as it is reported that he went back to Jiribam via Silchar airport.
MLA Joykisan said the decision was taken after deliberate discussion among the JD-U MLAs of Manipur. Regarding the remaining JD-U MLA, Md Abdul Nasir who was elected from Lilong assembly constituency, Joykisan informed that he is still at Delhi in connection with a health check-up for his father. Till date no information has been received from Nasir, he added.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also reached Imphal but did not interact with the media.
