A five-member women’s team of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), Women Wing will be taking part in a protest organised by Delhi Meitei Coordinating Committee (DMCC) at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi on Sunday.
COCOMI women’s wing, assistant coordinator Wahengbam Luwangleima told the media at its Lamphel office on Friday that the present crisis erupted with the intention of commiting genocide of Meitei community by the Kuki Narco terrorists.
The protest is being organised at Jantar Mantar on Sunday against the prevailing unrest and to raise the demand for complete replacement of Assam Rifles in Manipur by other security forces.
Five members of the women's wing will be leaving on Saturday to take part in the protest at Jantar Mantar.
Since the violence erupted, many religious places of the Meitei community, houses, and other structures have been arsoned by the Kuki narco terrorists and infiltrators from Myanmar, she said.
Various Meitei villages of Manipur are under attack with bombs and guns, she said, adding the women wing team will be taking part in the protest at Jantar Mantar to spread awareness about these issues to the nation.
She said they will be going to Delhi not to meet the Central leaders or state leaders but to raise awareness about the facts of the crisis that has been continuing since May 3.
