Ahead of Tripura Assembly election 2023, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh visited Tripura and said that the government is planning to construct a Manipur Bhawan in Tripura and will complete the construction of the Manipur Cultural Centre soon.
Biren was speaking during his visit to the Lainingthou Puthiba Temple in Tripura, where he interacted with the Meetei community living in Tripura, after offering prayers at the temple on Monday.
"It is indeed a blessing to offer prayers at Lainingthou Puthiba Temple and interact with the people. We will complete the Manipur Cultural Centre, which former CM RK Jaichandra Singh, laid the foundation stone in 1998 & we are planning to construct a Manipur Bhawan at Tripura," Biren said.
In a series of tweets, Biren stressed the need to preserve the bonds, the shared values and history between the Meetei community living in Manipur and Tripura.
"Interacting with the Meetei community at Tripura was a highly rewarding and enriching experience. Meeting my own kind who had been settling in another state was also touching and filled my heart with happiness. We must try to preserve the bonds, the shared values & our history," Biren tweeted.
In another tweet, Biren said: "May Lainingthou Puthiba bestow every one of us the courage and strength to overcome all difficult phases of our lives and bless us with peace and prosperity".
Biren was accompanied by BJP national spokeperson Sambit Patra during the visit to the Lainingthou Puthiba Temple, who also interacted with the Meetei community in the state of Tripura.
"Along with the Hon'ble CM of Manipur Shri@NBirenSingh Ji, visited the Manipuri Cultural Centre in Agartala where we interacted with the people of Manipur living in Tripura and also got the opportunity to offer prayers at the Lainingthou Puthiba Temple," the BJP leader tweeted on Monday.
During the visit to Tripura, both the leaders joined the Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha for his nomination filing from the Town Bardowali Assembly Constituency. During the nomination filing, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma Biswa was also present.
Tripura is gearing up to witness the next state Assembly election scheduled to be held on February 16 to elect all 60 members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly.
