In a swift follow-up of the teen murder case, CBI cracked the teens murder case and arrested four individuals including a woman. The two school-going teenagers Hijam Linthoingambi and Phijam Hemanjit went missing from Kwakta area in Bishnupur on July 6.
The four persons, including the main accused in the kidnapping and murder of two Meitei students have been air-lifted to Guwahati by CBI on Sunday evening for further investigation.
As photos of the two kids in captivity and after murder surfaced in the social media, a CBI team led by its Special Director landed in Manipur and began investigation.
The four individuals were arrested by a combined team of CBI and security forces including the state police from Henglep area, Churachandpur district on Sunday.
The arrested persons have been identified as main accused Paominlun Haokip, 35 yrs, s/o Thenkhogin Haokip of Kungpinaosen village; S Malswan Haokip, 40, son Akhup Haokip of L Phaikholun village; Wohkhogin Baite @ Tiger, 36, son of (l) Janglam Baite of Leimatak Bungmol; and Lhingneichong Baite, wife Wohkhogin Baite of Leimatak Bungmol village.
Two other minor dependents Tinnuphing, 15; and Tinnuphing, 11, were also detained by the combined team.

Announcing the arrest, Chief Minister N Biren Singh told media-persons at his office secretariat on Sunday that after some photographs of the two missing students surfaced on social media, central government under the instruction of Union Home Minister Amit Shah deputed a team of CBI led by its Special Director.
The swift action led to the arrest of four individuals including the main accused on Sunday.He thanked the CBI team along with Indian Army other security forces and state police for the arrest of alleged culprits involved in the murder case of the two students.
CM Biren said, further investigations will follow to arrest other alleged culprits and the government will extend necessary assistance.
The four arrested persons including two minor detainees were transported to Guwahati by the CBI team on Sunday evening in an Air Asia flight number i5-788.

Thanking all for a united voice in calling for immediate action the Chief Minister said, now it is clear that the present crisis is neither communal nor religious but a war waged against the Indian government by the Myanmar and Bangladesh-based Kuki militants with collaboration with some militants operating in Manipur.
He further said, on Saturday NIA arrested one Seiminlun Gangte in a case related to a ‘transnational conspiracy’ by Myanmar and Bangladesh based terror outfits to wage war against India by exploiting the current ethnic unrest in the state of Manipur.
He appealed to the people of Manipur to do away with any misunderstandings of the cause of the present crisis as NIA has made it clear.Further, the chief minister appealed for restraint and not to harm public properties and to cooperate with state police.
Responding to a media query regarding the invocation of Article 355 in Manipur Biren did not give a categorical reply.
However he said, “The chairmanship of the Unified Command was taken away from the chief minister and entrusted to the Security Advisor and people should know the meaning behind it”.

The chief minister also condoled the demise of Ima Memchoubi who was the president of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Lup on Sunday.
