A combined security force seized a substantial cache of arms and ammunition on Tuesday while conducting search operations in Kakching district, Manipur.
According to police reports, CDO unit Kakching and Waikhong Police along with a platoon of A-Coy 126 Battalion of BSF conducted a cordon and search operation at Langmeidong Laimanai area in Kakching district.
In the midst of the operation, the team received an input that some warlike weapons were concealed at Laimanai Laimaton Hill area.
The team carried out search operation and seized one AK-56, one empty magazine of AK-56, one Baofeng walkei talkie, one .36 HE Hand Grenade Indian made, two Chinese made Hand Grenade, one Tube Launching 1A, four Blank Cartridge, two Bullet proof Vest and twelve detonators.
A case has been registered at Waikhong Police Station for further investigation.
