The 75th Republic Day of India was observed across Manipur on Friday with the main celebration being held Kangla in Imphal where the Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey unfurled the National Flag and took salute from different march-past contingents.
KAKCHING:
In Kakching district, 75th Republic Day celebration was held at Deputy Commissioner Office Complex, Kakching.
The celebration began with the Deputy Commissioner Somorjit Salam, IAS inspecting the parade and unfurling the National flag. The DC took salute from the contingents including Civil Police, VDF and Traffic Police commanded by SDPO Kakching, Ak. Premjit Singh, MPS.
Addressing the gathering, Somorjit said that the Republic Day celebration symbolizes the strength of our unity in diversity and the rich cultural heritage of our nation. It reminds of the sacrifice made by our freedom fighters and the responsibility we have to uphold the sacrifice, the principles of democracy.
KANGPOKPI:
In Kangpokpi, the main function was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex.
Addressing as the Chief Guest of the function, the Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, highlighted the activities taken up in the district in the past 6-7 months. Taking the opportunity, he thanked all the Government officials for working hard for the district and encouraged them to continue in the future too.
Regarding the recently celebrated two-day Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra campaign in the district, he thanked the Sub-Divisional Officer T. Waichong & his team and the team of Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) for their hard work. He further thanked all the Government departments for their active participation in the campaign.
CHURACHANDPUR:
The District Administration, Churachandpur celebrated the 74th Republic Day at Peace Ground, Tuibong where Dharun Kumar S, Deputy Commissioner of the district unfurled the National Flag and took Salute as the Chief Guest from march past contingents comprising BSF, civil police, NCC cadets, school students and inmates of several relief camps.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner complimented the achievements and contributions of various departments and offices in the district. He stated that the district is housing the highest number of IDPs in 114 relief camps.
The DC also stated that the spirit of nationalism is not just an emotion; it is a responsibility, a duty that we owe to the countless souls who sacrificed, fought and helped as many people as possible and make the public understand the importance of the services and dedication shown in difficult times.
PHERZAWL:
District Administration, Pherzawl celebrated the 75th Republic Day at Pherzawl District Headquarters where Deputy Commissioner, Asish Das unfurled the tricolour and took salute from the parade contingents commanded by SDPO Golamthang Hatzaw.
Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, DC Asish Das lauded the numerous sacrifices made by our forefathers for the cause of the nation. Stating that our Constitution is the cornerstone of democracy, the DC called upon the people to uphold the constitutional values and work towards building a better India for all.
Appreciation Certificate distribution to 16 outstanding government employees and cultural dance performance by Pherzawl HYA were the main highlights of the function.
CHANDEL:
Chandel District joined the nation in celebrating the 75th Republic Day, organized by the district administration Chandel at Maha Union Hr. Sec. School Ground at Japhou. The celebration started with the inspection of guard of honour and the unfurling of the national tricolour accompanied by the national anthem by the Chief guest, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for every individual to be more disciplined and to adhere to the duties, enshrined in our constitution rather than looking only for our rights, in order to bring harmony in our society.
Altogether 22 contingents, comprising Police, NCC, School students, line departments like ICDS, Anganwadi workers etc participated in the march past. And as part of the celebration road safety demonstrations were also shown by traffic control, district transport department
BISHNUPUR:
In Bishnupur. the district level celebration was organised at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
As part of the celebration, Deputy Commissioner, Lourembam Bikram unfurled the National Tricolour. Abhinav, IPS was the march past contingent's Parade Commander.
Speaking as the Chief Guest, the DC highlighted various achievements and successful implementation of various schemes of both the Central and State Government in the district.
The State of Manipur in general and Bishnupur district in particular had been going through an unprecedented crisis since the last eight and half months, he said.
UKHRUL:
In Ukhrul district, Deputy Commissioner Zuringla Kengoo, IAS unfurled the tricolour accompanied by singing of national anthem in the presence of SP Ukhrul Ningsem Vashum MPS, Parade Commander Ringthing Hongchui, MPS, Additional SP, DLOs, Invitees and public.
Addressing the gathering Chief Guest of the function DC Zuringla Kengoo recalled this day 75 years ago in 1950 when the constitution of India came into effect proclaiming our country as a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic.
Altogether 28 contingents participated in the march past and seven cultural performances namely Ngainga Cultural Dance Troupe, Ukhrul District Karate Kid, Assam Rifles Public School, Hungpung Kok Thang Ta Academy, Model High School, Halang Bapt Church Mission School and Pam's KinderGarden were presented.
TENGNOUPAL:
The district administration celebrated the 75th Independence Day at the office complex of the Deputy Commissioner, graced by Krishna Kumar, DC as the Chief Guest.
Contingents of the Police department, Assam Rifles band BSF, Tengnoupal Government High School and St Peter's School took part in the parade. Cultural dance was also presented as a part of the celebration.
Staff and officers of different departments were also awarded Certificate of Appreciation during the celebration.
NONEY:
Noney district witnessed the 75th Republic Day Celebration of independent India amid tight security at Longmai III common ground, Noney District Headquarters.
DC Noney Joseph Pauline Kamson unfurled the tricolour with salute and national anthem.
Speaking at the occasion as chief guest, Joseph Pauline stated that Noney even though is a young district, it has potential for faster all-round development being connected by important highways, railways and its nearness to the state capital, Imphal.
A total of 20 contingents took part in the parade that included police and students.
Appreciation certificates were also distributed to about 52 government employees and individuals for their valuable and dedication services.
SENAPATI:
The District Administration, Senapati celebrated the 75th Republic Day at Sanyi Dahrii Memorial Sports Complex, Khabung Karong, Senapati.
The Deputy Commissioner, Senapati Mamoni Doley, inspected the Guard of Honour and unfurled the National Flag. The National Anthem was sung by Sprouting Oak Academy students and later Senapati DC took the salute from 18 March Past contingents led by parade commander M L Kaisungbou, ADSP, NH-2 Security, Senapati.
During the celebration, nine departments displayed their tableaus out of which CEO/ ADC, Senapati were awarded as the winner. In gate construction, DIC and Sericulture department won the top position.
In the cultural programme, cultural dance were also performed and folk songs presented.
