As many as 18 Manipur legislators, including ministers, have reportedly flown to New Delhi in separate flights to meet the Central leaders for a speedy resolution to the unrest which has been going on for the past four months in Manipur.

The move came after members of the Youths of Manipur (YoM) stormed Chief Minister’s Bungalow on Monday.

The large number of youths met CM N Biren Singh in continuation of their movement in which the MLAs are made to take a pledge for protecting Manipur and resign on failing to do so.

The YoM members had earlier stormed the homes of Keirao MLA L Rameshore, Minister and Thongju MLA Th Bishwajit, Speaker and Yaiskul MLA Th Satyabarta, Singjamei MLA Y Khemchand and Keishamthong MLA S Nishikanta and collected pledges from them.

Chief minister N Biren Singh along with some ministers and MLAs met a delegation of the youths who insisted on signing pledges not only from the chief minister but from all ruling MLAs including ministers. N Biren Singh convened a meeting of the MLAs where the proposition from Youths of Manipur was minutely discussed and deliberated upon.
