Droupadi Murmu is set to become India's first tribal President as she will be sworn in as the 15th President of India on Monday at 10.15 am at the Central Hall of Parliament.

The Union Home Ministry said Chief Justice of India N V Ramana will administer the oath of office of the President to Murmu, the first tribal woman and the youngest to hold the highest constitutional post of the country. Murmu will be the first President to be born after independence and the second woman president of India.

The ministry said the oath-taking ceremony of the country's 15th President will be followed by a 21 gun salute and the presidential address. She will succeed Ram Nath Kovind.

The ministry said Vice-President and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Members of the Council of Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, Members of Parliament and principal civil and military officers of the government will attend the ceremony.

Sixty-four-year-old Murmu won the presidential race against Opposition presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha on July 21 to become the country's 15th president. She got 6,76,803 votes against Sinha's 3,80,177 votes.
