Three more candidates filed nomination papers before the returning officers concerned for the second phase polling in Tamenglong district of Manipur on Thursday.
After offering prayers and seeking blessings in the church early morning, National People's Party (NPP) candidate Janghemlung Panmei filed his nomination paper before the returning officer Hungyo Worshang in Tamenglong assembly constituency in the afternoon.
Speaking to the media after filing his nomination paper, NPP candidate Janghemlung Panmei said that if he is elected in the 12th general assembly election, he would look into communication, education and health and bring more development in his assembly constituency.
Janata Dal United candidate Samuel Jendai also filed his nomination paper for contesting in Tamenglong assembly constituency. He was accompanied by his chief agent Glady and advocate. Jendai told media persons that four candidates, including himself, are contesting. He expressed hope and firm belief that he would win by 10,000 voters.
In Nungba assembly constituency, Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Dinganglung Gangmei alias Dipu also filed his nomination paper. He was accompanied by his chief agent Stody Dangmei. After filing his nomination paper, Dipu Gangmei urged all the people of his assembly constituency to come out and vote without any fear. He appealed to all citizens of Tamenglong district for a peaceful election.
He also clarified about the confusion and rumours regarding a court case against him. He clarified that there is no such high court order. He would obey what the court tells and give full cooperation to any enquiry team, he said.
