The Manipur government will soon issue new COVID guidelines, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said, urging the people of the state to get vaccinated and stay safe from the viral infection.
"Held a meeting regarding the new Covid-19 cases in the country at my Secretariat. Manipur has 0 active cases as of now but we need to take precautions and New Covid Guidelines will be issued soon. My appeal to the people of Manipur to get vaccinated and stay safe," Biren said in a Twitter post.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Sapam Ranjan also urged the people to start following Covid appropriate behaviour strictly as a precautionary measure.
"As of today, Manipur has zero COVID-19 positive cases. However, it is high time to stay alert as some deadly variants of the virus are spreading fast in some countries such as China, Brazil, Japan and South Korea," Ranjan said during an emergency press conference held at the Health Directorate in Imphal on Friday.
"There is no need to panic. We just want the public to take precautionary measures and follow the SoP and the Covid guidelines like in the past," he said.
