Single or in a relationship, everyone wants love and to be loved. This Valentine’s Day, even if you have decided not to celebrate the day, watching a romantic film can be a great idea. Well, what can be better than to enjoy Valentine’s Day than watching a romance in reel?

If you are among those who love to snuggle up and enjoy a romantic movie time together or if you are ‘happily single’, watching romance will do its magic.

Here are six popular romantic movies of all time to watch on Valentine’s Day:

  • The Notebook:
Directed by Nick Cassavetes,’The Notebook’ which was released in 2004, is one of the most romantic films ever. Guaranteed to make you cry, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, ‘The Notebook’ tells the story of a young lovers whose love affair was tragically put to a halt after their separation in the midst of World War II.   • Pretty Woman:
‘Pretty Woman’, directed by Gary Marshall, was released in 1990. The film starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts is a romantic classic full of quotable scenes. It won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in Motion Picture.
  • When Harry Met Sally:
Released in 1989, ‘When Harry Met Sally’ is an oldie but a goodie. The film, directed by Rob Reiner, tells the story of two best friends, Sally Albright (Meg Ryan) and Harry Burns (Billy Crystal) that chronicles the dilemma if sex make it impossible for men and women to be true friends, through the eleven year relationship between Harry and Sally.   • Star Is Born:
Directed by Bradley Cooper, A ‘Star Is Born’ is a 2018 release, is a reminder some stories can be just as effective in the re-telling. Bradley Cooper portrays seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers and falls in love with struggling artist Ally.   • Hitch:
‘Hitch’, a 2005 release directed by Andy Tennant, is a rom-com classic. Will Smith plays a dating expert who, while helping his latest client (Kevin James) to woo the woman of his dream, finds out that his game didn’t quite work.
  • Titanic:
Needless to say, a romantic movie list is incomplete without ‘Titanic’. Directed by James Cameron, the love story between Jack and Rose (played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet) have won hearts.
