Tangkhul films premiered in Delhi

Tangkhul films ‘Ining Pheikhar’ and ‘Ikala’ were premiered at Sir Shankar Lal Concert Hall, North Campus, Delhi on Monday. EYAR Production in collaboration with Tangkhul Katamnao Long, Delhi premiered the two films along with a live concert by Tangkhul Musician Zone.

Director of the film, Grace Rephung YL while interacting with this correspondent after returning from Delhi informed that ‘Ikala’ is a short film about 30 minutes based on domestic violence and ‘Ining Ipheikar’ is a feature film with duration of 90 minutes and depicts the consequences of one misstep.

She stated that the story and character were truly from her heart and aims to give a message and an example for courage and power to speak up, so that people can learn from their mistakes. The actors are Khayaikhan R Shimray, Mashun Shaiza, Selina Chanting, Tonreimung Shanglai and Sochipem Kasomwung. 

She informed that she chose Delhi for premiering the movie because the storyline and characters of the movie somehow resemble the lifestyle of people in metro cities. 

The two films are written and directed by Grace Rephung YL and is produced by EYAR Production House. She added that the production house makes films based on social issues that is confronting the community and aims to generate awareness and bring challenges to the society. 

She informed that the movie premiere was attended by BJP national executive members, ST Morcha, Asai Ngakuimiza Asainao as chief guest and Sangathak BJP, Prashant Arora as guest of honour.  

Grace Rephung YL thanked the Tangkhul community in Delhi for their massive response. She plans to release the movie in Ukhrul very soon and later to other metro cities of India.
