The minister said that Manipur has maximum number of weavers and artisans in the country and their number is increasing.

Today, amid the Covid-19 scenario, the art of traditional weaving is gaining popularity as more and more women, including women returnees, are taking to weaving for a living with no job in hand.

Those families who have stopped weaving have started facing problems of hunger, Leima Traders said.
