Schools which do not conduct online classes or any other activities during the pandemic should not collect student tuition fees from the parents, the United Association of Recognised Private Schools Association Manipur (UARSoM) stated.
UARSoM suggested that the basis for alloting marks to students should be based on the periodic examinations or the sessional or pre-board or pre-council examinations conducted by the school or in whichever way the school deem most appropriate.
UARSoM president Laishram Joy said online classes will be cancelled if any kind of complaints arise from any section on the ground of taking tuition fees.
The associations plan to order all private schools in the state to collect 50 per cent tuition fees from students for the time period between April till the time schools reopen.
The association warned the Education department to act responsibly before any untoward incident happens.
"The private schools are contributing for the welfare of the state regardless of the uncertainties which lie ahead."
