Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) chairperson inspected two refugee camps temporarily set up at Sangalok (Kheroram) and Phaikoh in Kamjong subdivision where more than 2000 Myanmar refugees, mostly Chin-Kuki, are lodged.
The commission directed the chief secretary, special secretary (home), director of prosecution, government of Manipur, NAB Superintendent of police, additional SP (NAB) Th Brinda, Md Abas of Thoubal police and Md Feisai.
Khaidem Mani said that it has been more than two years that MHRC was reestablished. However, the proposal made to the state government to fulfil adequate staff, infrastructure and financial autonomy is yet to be fulfilled.
