District Legal Services Authority, Tamenglong organised a mass rally marking the final day of the campaign starting from District Court Complex, Tamenglong.
The painting competition was held as part of the closing ceremony for the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) two-week nationwide campaign on Empowerment of Citizens through Legal Awareness and Outreach Camp.
In 2022, Manipur State Legal Services Authority organised four National Lok Adalat and one Special Lok Adalat in which a total number of 1,372 cases were settled and disposed of amicably with a total settled amount of Rs 15,06,31,587.
SDO Patsoi Samson Huidrom flagged off the Manipur State Legal Services Authority Utility Van from his office in the presence of the staff of SDO Patsoi, representatives of District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West and law students.
The programme was organised by District Legal Services Authority, Tamenglong.
The 3rd National Lok Adalat of 2022 will be held on August 13 at all District Court complexes and High Court of Manipur.
Interested parties are required to contact the Manipur State Legal Services Authority or the concerned District Legal Services Authorities for listing their cases before the National Lok Adalat on or before August 4.
The Legal Aid Services and Outreach Activities carried out by this Authority were reviewed in the said programme.
The programme was attended by P Ibomcha, retired director of prosecution, government of Manipur, Ojesh Mutum, member secretary, Manipur SLSA and Sadananda Sorokhaibam, additional member secretary, Manipur SLSA as the presidium members.
The health camp in Tengnoupal was chaired by Aribam Guneshwar Sharma, chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Chandel cum District & Sessions Judge, Imphal West district.
The IYD 2022 event was organised by the High Court Legal Services Committee in association with the Manipur High Court, the High Court Bar Association of Manipur and the Manipur State Legal Services Authority.
The Lok Adalat was conducted in physical/offline mode for all pending court cases as well as pre-litigation cases.
A total of 100 people enrolled for E-Shram during the camp.
Of the 355 cases taken up on Saturday, 75 cases were settled with a total settlement amount of Rs 1,93,45,211.
The cases are criminal compoundable offences, NI Act cases under Section 138, MACT cases, matrimonial cases, labour dispute cases and other civil cases as well as pre-litigation matters such as bank loan recovery matters, telephone bills, matter referred from Legal Aid Clinic, etc.
Justice Kh Nobin expressed the need of collaborating MASLSA with the media to provide necessary legal aid so that no stone is left unturned in providing the rights of a citizen granted by the Constitution.
The campaign to be carried out through hoardings was launched in the presence of additional session judge, Fast Track Court, Crime against Women Ojesh Mutum and deputy member secretary, MASLSA Sorokhaibam Sadananda.
The MASLSA in association with District Legal Services Authorities and High Court Legal Services Committee organised the last National Lok Adalat for the year 2020 on December 12, 2020
