India’s daily positivity rate has dipped to 5.7 per cent, as per the latest government data.
COVID-19 tally in India crossed 45 lakh mark on Friday morning.
The total number of recovered cases climbed to 9,52,743, taking the recovery rate to 64.24 per cent while the death toll rose to 33,425 with the report of 654 more deaths, pushing the fatality-rate to 2.25 per cent.
The nationwide total number of COVID-19 positive cases of 1,238,635 includes 4,26,122 active cases, 7,84,267 recovered cases and 29,890 deaths due to COVID-19.
So far, India has conducted 1,30,72,718 sample tests for Coronavirus, the second highest in the world.
As high as 28,179 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported from across the country since Monday.
The data updated Friday morning by the Health Ministry showed the daily COVID-19 cases increased by the highest ever 17,296 cases so far, taking the country’s total tally to 4,90,401.
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country reached 4,56,183 as of Wednesday morning.
