Manipur's COVID-19 confirmed caseload rose to 18,272 and the death toll to 164 on Friday
The state government is yet to conduct a scientific analysis of the state Covid-19 situation either through its agencies or researchers in the academic institutions of the state to understand the emerging trend and realities on the ground. The opinions of a few experts in the Covid-19 Consultative Committee or Task Forces would not be sufficient enough to understand the situation.
Manipur is seeing a rise of Covid positive cases and the positivity rates is also slowly inching up, as also the mortality rate. It must be ensured that the by-elections must not be the catalyst for further increase.
With the report of 98 new COVID-19 patients, the total number of of positive cases in the state rose to 3018, including 1197 active cases and 1814 recovered cases, a release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room stated.
Active COVID-19 cases in Manipur increased to 367, the state health department said on Sunday.
