Located at Farmlane, the new 120-bedded Covid Care Centre at Mini Secretariat complex Tamenglong was inaugurated by district deputy commissioner Armstrong Pame.
With the 12 new cases, the number of COVID-19 positive cases has surged to 240 in Tamenglong.

Tamenglong chief medical officer Dr Chambo Gonmei stated in a notification that the engagement is temporary for the recruits to work at community quarantine centres in the district on payment of remuneration per duty day.

The inmates used abusive words and threatening gestures against the police personnel deployed at the said centre, police said.
"Returnees in the quarantine centres came out of the centres to buy alcohols and spend leisure time in the centres without maintaining social distancing."
The quarantine centre at Government Ideal Blind School, Takyelpat, Imphal West as a dedicated institutional quarantine centre for transgenders returning from green zones and orange zones.
33 institutional quarantine centres which have the capacity of 2,000 people are effectively functioning.
