Sumang Kumhei held

International Peace and Social Advancement (IPSA) and Jana Neta Hijam Irabot Memorial Trust, Dharmanagar , Tripura jointly organised a ‘Sumang Kumhei’, a live performing art on stage and performed ‘Nunshi Laman’at Dharmanagar, Tripura on Wednesday.

A released stated that president of IPSA Joychandra Konthoujam while speaking as the chief guest said that Meiteis had been known to the world through its preserved art and culture. He observed that however, the negligence of one’s culture and tradition among the present generation is in a critical stage, it said. Joychandra in his speech also stated that other communities will underestimate the Meitei community if such negligence continues in the future and he added that the program is organise to protect the Meitei community residing outside Manipur before they are being dominated by other culture, said the release.

The released also mentioned that vice chairman, Khadi and Village Industries, Manipur, Y Nilamani Singh, sponsor Tripura and Bangladesh Events W Ratan Singh attended the function as special guests of honour.
