Poster campaign spreads awareness on COVID-19 prevention

Pamphlet which read ‘No Mask No Entry’ and other measures to prevent transmission of COVID-19 were pasted at shops, fuel outlets, banks, offices, community markets and vehicle stands

Awareness on the COVID-19 pandemic was spread among the people living in India-Myanmar border town Moreh in Manipur with a poster campaign conducted by the Moreh Small Town Committee on  Tuesday. The public was made aware about preventive measures against the disease.

The Moreh Small Town Committee led by its co-convenor member ADC Chandel Cecilia Chinneivah Haokip displayed poster templates and distributed the same to community and local leaders.

Speaking to the media, co-convenor of Moreh small town committee, Chinneivah Haokip said the government has extended the lockdown and the public should not neglect and take it lightly.

"We should stay alert and co-operate with the government by following the standard operating procedures like wearing Masks, using hand sanitizers and maintaining social distancing while stepping outside. A slight negligence can put everyone at risk,” he said.

She also appealed to everyone to be a responsible citizen to make Moreh a COVID-19 free zone. To impart awareness to the public, the committee distributed poster templates to community leaders and locality leaders.

Templates which read ‘No Mask No Entry’ and carrying other measures to prevent transmission of COVID-19 were pasted at shops, fuel outlets, banks, offices, community markets and vehicle stands by the staff of Moreh small town committee and members of WATAM.

The poster campaign which was organised by the Autonomous District Council in Collaboration with National Health Mission (NHM) was attended by SDO Moreh Dinesh Kumar, additional SP Sangboi Gangte, leaders of HTC, MCM, MMCM, Tamil Sangam, Gorkha Samaj ACODOM and workers of Moreh small town committee.
