The NSCN(I-M) has conveyed its shock and bereavement at the demise of former MP and Padmashree awardee Melhupra Vero.
Naming him as a stalwart Naga public leader who left no stone unturned to show his love and concern for the Naga issue, the NSCN(I-M) has said that it was Vero who appealed to all the Naga national political groups to reconcile through the spirit of forgive and forget.
In a condolence message issued by Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP), president of GPRN, Q Tuccu stated, Vero toured far off places like Kathmandu, Bangladesh border, Myanmar, Atlanta (US) and Bangkok along with extensive tours in Nagaland, neighbouring states and shuttling between Kohima and New Delhi as the founder president of the Naga Hoho proving himself to be a man for the Nagas.
The statement further stated that he was a familiar face when it comes to the Naga issue and he never wavered in his effort for Naga unity to hasten the process of Naga political solution.
Remembering his unblemished leadership and dedicated service for the Naga people, the statement stated his high profile credentials as a Naga leader would never be forgotten by the Nagas in general and the NSCN(I-M) in particular.
While saluting the Naga leader the NSCN (I-M) expressed its condolences and prayed for strength and solace for the family members of the departed leader. He gave his best service for the Naga people, the statement added.
