The NSCN (I-M), in keeping with the importance attached with the Naga “national occasions”, observed the 41st Naga Republic Day with mass prayer and hoisting of the Naga national flag by Kedallo (Vice President), NSCN/GPRN, Tongmeth Wangnao, at the Council Headquarters (CHq), Hebron on Saturday, a release stated.

This year, according to the NSCN (I-M) press release, the celebration was low key in solidarity with the world in its fight against the highly infectious Covid-19 where social distancing is one effective preventive measure.

The NSCN (I-M) then stated that Covid-19 respects no national or state boundary. “It respects no social bounds, no political systems and no cultural values. Nothing matters more than how we respond,” said the press note.

“The Health Ministry of GPRN is not taking any chance but fully geared up to face the alarming situation… Besides other preventive measures like personal hygiene, every member in Hebron is made to go through thermal screening… No visitors coming to the camp are allowed to pass without thermal screening at the gate,” the NSCN (I-M) added.
