A total of 277 COVID-19 patients have so far been discharged from hospitals in Assam.

Of the new cases, Charaideo reported four cases while Sivsagar and Nagaon reported one case each, official sources said.

Total COVID-19 cases in the state climbed to 1,339 while the number of discharged cases stood at 185.

On Thursday, as many as 97 new cases were reported from different parts of the state, health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

As many as 25 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday after they tested negative for COVID-19.

With 16 new cases, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam rose to 682 on Tuesday whereas total positive cases in Tripura rose to 232 as 23 more tested positive, official sources said.

Assam now has 470 active cases and 62 recovered cases.
