It may be mentioned that all COVID-19 confirmed cases reported in the state are Chennai returnees. Nagaland reported its first COVID-19 cases on May 25 after three persons who returned from Chennai, Tamil Nadu by train tested positive for the virus.
On April 12, a 33-year-old businessman from Dimapur, tested positive for COVID-19 but he was added to Assam’s tally as he was tested and treated at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Assam.
Meanwhile, the total number of COVID-19 in India surged to 1,82,143, including 86,984 recovered cases and 5,164 deaths. The number of active cases stood at 89,995, according to the data released by the Union Home on Sunday morning.
