Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio launched online Inner Line Permit (ILP) for tourists to the Northeastern state today, in an effort to regulate Illegal immigration and generate vital statistics for Tourism and other inter-state businesses.
The chief minister took to Twitter to announced the launch of Tourist ILP Online and said that separate ILP is issued as ILP segregates tourists & Govt. official of other states from the other categories to promote tourism and development.
Tourist can apply for online ILP through https://ilp.nagaland.gov.in/
While applying for Tourist ILP Online, one needs to provide the following-
1) ID proof- Aadhaar, PAN, Voters ID, Driving License, Passport, Government ID, Student ID
2) Recent Colour passport photo
3) ILP Fee- 15 Days: Rs 50 – 30 Days: ₹100
The Inner Line Permit (ILP) Regulation Act (Section III of the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act of 1873) is in operation in the Northeastern state since 1873.
ILP has been promulgated to safeguard the identity and the very existence of the indigenous people of Nagaland from exploitation by outsiders.
The Inner Line Permit (ILP) is an official travel document issued by the Government of Nagaland to allow tourists or foreign visitors and Indian citizens of other states into a protected/restricted area for a limited period.
It is obligatory for every foreigners and Indian citizens other than Nagaland to obtain permit for entering into the protected state of Nagaland.
