Manipur's COVID-19 positive tally crosses 6500; recovery rate rises to 70.80 pc
The number of COVID-19 active cases is 1871, including 673 personnel of the Central security force.
COVID-19 cases in Manipur rose to 6507 as 125 more people, including two security force personnel, tested positive for the virus infection on Wednesday.
Of the new cases, 40 from Imphal West, 18 from Imphal East, 14 from Thoubal, 17 from Bishnupur, one from Chandel, 28 from Churachandpur and five from Kakching, All the new positive cases reported on Wednesday are locals without any significant travel history, Additional Director and spokesperson, state health department, Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang said in a release.
All the new patients have been shifted to different covid care facilities in the state and their contact tracing and other containment measures are in place, the doctor said.
The cumulative of death remains 29 as there was no report of death on Wednesday, while 157 more patients have been discharged, the release stated. The recovery rate is now 70.80 per cent.
Of the total positive cases in the state, 1602 are personnel of the Central Reserved Police Forces, while the number of recovered cases is 4607 and active cases is 1871.
Miking is being continued in Imphal West district, as a part of the intensive awareness drive, the release stated.
