According to sources, the debris flow which reportedly occurred around 2.30 pm on Monday has inundated various paddy fields in the area, while many fish farms are at the risk of being flooded.

The collapse of debris from the hill triggered by the incessant rainfall has blocked Chingkakpham, which is the waterway leading to Kharungpat, in return causing waterlogging in many paddy fields at Thoubal and Lousi Loukol.

The same has caused distress among the paddy-fish farmers of the area including Loushi Loukol at Kakching and Thoubal district of possible crop failure and fish farms being swept away.

He urged the relevant state department and the concerned MLAs of the three constituencies to look into the matter at the earliest and take up necessary measures to remove the debris blocking the area without further delay, before it causes extensive damage to many paddy fields.
