Teachers and parents should help children realise their hidden talent: MP RK Ranjan

The 29th prize distribution ceremony of the Eastern Star Higher Secondary School was held on Sunday at the school premises at Khangabok in Thoubal district.

The chief guest of Sunday’s function was MP RK Ranjan and Kakching MLA Y Surchandra was the president whereas deputy commissioner of Thoubal district N Bandana, SP of the district S Ibomcha, KangabokJilla Parishad member Kh Rajmohon and school principal cum founder Kh Mangijao were the guests of honour.

Speaking at the function, RK Ranjan said that the teachers should fulfill their role in making each student a responsible citizen of the country. He also observed that without hard work one cannot be a successful person and said that each child is born with special abilities and the parents and teachers should help the children in honing their talents.

MLA Surchandra in his speech said that it was very unfortunate that children are ill behaved these days and doubted if today’s educational system has a lacunae in it which caused such a situation.

It is apparent that educated children today do not want to do any work which is a reflection of the bad education system and this needs to be rectified, he added

DC Bandana stressed the need for starting early in teaching the children not to do anything detrimental to them. She also said that the parents and teachers play a very big role in inculcating the right values in the children, which she said arise from the love and care they get.

SP Ibomcha in his speech said that time is of prime importance and no time should be wasted by the children who should sincerely do what they are taught to do for their success in life.

Prizes were distributed to meritorious students on the occasion to encourage them to do well.
