Manipur COVID-19: 2903 confirmed cases in home isolation; death toll 171

In all, three more patients died and 248 more people tested positive for Coronavirus infection in Manipur on Sunday.

As many as 2,903 COVID-19confirmed cases are in home isolation across Manipur as the state’s total tally rose to 18,750 cases and the death toll reached 171 on Sunday.

As per the latest release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room, three males –from Imphal West, Thoubal and Imphal East died at JNIMS Hospitals.

In all, the release stated that 247 persons from the general population and one personnel from the Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases, the release stated. JNIMS Hospital reported the highest new positive cases of 72 on Sunday.

The positive cases from the cumulative general population are 86 from Imphal West, 77 from Imphal East, 13 from Thoubal, nine from Kangpokpi, one each from Noney, Jiribam and Ukhrul, 25 from Bishnupur, four from Kakching, two from Senapati, 13 each from Churachandpur and Tamenglong and two from Chandel, the release stated.

All are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.

Meanwhile, 203 more patients have been discharged. The cumulative number of recovered cases is 15,065 (General Population - 12.623 and Central Security Personnel 2,442). The recovery rate is 80.34 per cent. With it, the number of active cases is 3,514 (General Population - 3.200 and Central Security Personnel - 314).

Self-isolate yourself immediately if you were in contact with a positive person, Contact Covid Control Room or CMO for testing, the health department stated.
