Manipur: Churachandpur police recover arms-ammunition

Churachandpur police has stated that upon receiving reliable information from Imphal East Police (IE-CDO), a police team raided the residence of an accused involved in an Arms smuggling case in Churachandpur district.

In a press briefing held on Monday, Churachandpur police informed that a team led by SI Shominthang, SI Letzapao and SI Raju under the command of additional SP (operation) Lawrence Kapkhenmang had raided the residence of the accused on Sunday afternoon.  

The seized items includes one modified 303 Rifle, one 303 magazine, 6 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, machine bow, 17 arrows, samples of arrow heads, and two single barrel guns (both having same serial number).

The seized arms and ammunition along with the other items have been handed over to Churachandpur police station and a case has been registered for further investigations. The arms were seized after Imphal East police arrested two arms smugglers with AK 56 assault rifles from Churachandpur.
