Department of Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development (MAHUD) has called for maximum public participants and feedbacks on ‘Ease of Living Index 2019 Assessment Survey’ for Imphal city that began on February 1.
Citizen can log into Eol2019.org/citizenfeedback or by scanning a QR code that will be made available in various places like hospitals through billboards and hoardings.
Briefing the media at auditorium of City Convention Centre on Friday, commissioner of MAHUD, M Joy informed that since the launch of the survey, 93 feedbacks have been received from the public till date.
Joy stated that the department has already informed different colleges in Imphal where the camps will be organised from February 17. He also said that the camps will help in maximum participations of the people in the survey. The department will also open camps in other public places with the completion of the camps in educational institutions, said the commissioner.
Joy said that the main objective of the survey is to receive feedbacks from citizens on the status and conditions of the city they live. The feedbacks received so far were directly received from the citizens through the link provided by the department, Joy said while adding that maximum participations and feedbacks from the citizens is a must in determining the actual status of the city.
According to 2011 census, the population of Imphal city is about 2,70, 000. As such, the department is targeting a minimum feedback of one percent of the total population which can be estimated about 3,000 feedback, he added.
Director of MAHUD, Th Harikumar, who is also the CEO, Imphal Smart City said that the data of the survey will be more accurate through maximum participations of the public. He also said that the effectiveness of the service provided by different department in the State can be accessed through the feedbacks provided by the public.
Th Harikumar had earlier mentioned on February 6 that Imphal came in the 91st ranking out of 111 cities that were assessed in the Ease of Living Index 2018. The MAHUD officials also informed earlier that people who have stayed in Imphal city for at least six months can take part in the survey.
It may be mentioned that the assessment is being carried out under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for generating information to guide evidence based policy making, assessing and comparing the outcomes achieved from various urban policies and schemes.
It seeks to obtain the perception of citizens about their view of the services provided by the city administration.
