The Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Kana block, Manipur expressed shocked over the brutal attack of 4 Assam Rifles jawans at Khongtal Village Kana Area (SajikTampak), in Chandel District on Wednesday by three militant groups killing three jawans and injuring six others.

Information and publicity secretary, Kennedy Haokip said that the KSO strongly condemned the brutal and “inhuman behavior”, which not only hurt the bereaved families but the society as a whole and it recalled the hurtful and horror memories of the past.

He also said that for more than two decades, the region has been under the control of certain UGs and therefore, the area highly lacked in development and infrastructure making it more vulnerable.

While appealing on behalf of the public to all sections of the society to refrain from violence and come together to curb violence for a long lasting peace and tranquillity, the student body also maintained that it has always been a desire of the locals to have a calm and peaceful life, which have been abruptly disturbed by this incident creating terror and panic once again.

Haokip fervently urged the law enforcing agencies to immediately take up necessary actions and book the perpetrators according to the law of the land while it condoled the death of the jawans and prayed for the departed family.
