JNIMS nurses call off Nov 18 sit-in protest

Nurses of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science (JNIMS) has called off their proposed mass sit-in protest which was scheduled on November 18.

The decision was taken by Train Nurses Association of India, (TRAI) JNIMS unit following the assurance made by chief minister N Biren to increase the grade pay of the nurses whenever possible.

A release issued by secretary of TRAI JNIMS unit, Phurailatpam Janapriya stated that representatives of the nurses and JNIMS authority had a meeting with the chief minister on November 15 wherein the chief minister also assured to call a second table talk to finalise the matter.

However, the ongoing sit in protest by OPD staffs, nursing sister and association of nursing staff will continue till further notice, she added.
