The Arunachal Literature & Art Festival-2019 is set to be held at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh from November 8 to 10. The three-day festival, which will facilitate “open interaction with prominent writers and artistes,” will be held at Annex Ground, Indira Gandhi Park in the capital.
The Arunachal literature festival is an “initiative of the department of IPR to create awareness on importance of literature in and throw light on eminent writers and poets”.
The main highlights of the festival are art exhibitions, book releases, panel discussion, open mic poetry, installations, mural arts and folk music among others.
There will be an open talk session with Raphael Warjiri, a painter and filmmaker based in Shillong. There will also be an open talk session with Mamang Dai, poet, novelist and journalist based in Itanagar and a poetry session with Danish Iqbal, a Delhi-based playwright, performer and media person, according to a release by the organiser.
Some of the books to be released during the festival are Bulletproof, a Journalist’s Notebook by award-winning journalist, Teresa Rehman and Crafting the Word by Thingnam Anjulika Samom, independent journalist based in Imphal.
Also, story writing and storytelling sessions for children, will be conducted. And performances by Bottle Rockets India, a six piece band from Guwahati, Assam and solo independent artiste Phu Ning Ding are the highlights of the festival.
