International Day of the Girl Child 2020: ‘My Fairy – My Strength’ among others goes live

Films Division, Mumbai marks the International Day of the Girl Child 2020 with live streaming of select animation and documentary films on its website and YouTube channel.

International Day of the Girl Child 2020 is being observed on Saturday, October 11 all across the world, this year, with the theme – “My voice, our equal future”. Films Division, Mumbai marks the day with live streaming of select animation and documentary films that includes Chimukali – Save the girl child(3 Min) an animation film on saving the girl child and stopping female foeticide followed by documentaries Education-Only Her Future (5 Min), Pratibha (20 Min.), Kuldeepak (60 Min.), My Fairy - My Strength (39 Min.) and Roshini (58 Min).

Observing the International Day of the Girl Child, Films Division of the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Mumbai said in a release that it is showcasing the special package of the select animation and documentary films live on its YouTube channel and website.

Every year on 11th October, the International Day of the Girl Child, UNICEF launches an annual campaign with girls to amplify their voices and stand up for their rights. This year’s theme of ‘My voice, our equal future’ seizes "the opportunity to re-imagine a better world inspired by adolescent girls – energized and recognized, counted and invested in".

"The films being screened amplify the voice of girls and those who are in the forefront of saving girl child all kinds of exploitation," the Films Division stated.
