International Tourism Mart is being organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, in association with the Northeastern States at Imphal. This is the 8th International Tourism Mart and an annual event organised in the Northeastern region with the objective of highlighting the tourism potential of the region in the domestic and international markets.

The 8th International Tourism Mart, which kicked of today will put the spotlight on “Sustainable Tourism an engine for Economic Growth and Employment”.

Union Tourism and Culture minister Prahlad Singh Patel and Manipur CM N Biren Singh jointly inaugurates 8th International Tourism Mart at Imphal.
 “The image of Manipur has undertaken a lot of changes in the last two and half years. The inherited culture of bandh and blockade has been reduced by 88 percent. The insurgency related problems has been reduced by 98 percent.” – CM Biren Singh

A total of 36 foreign buyers and delegates from over 19 countries, 49 domestic stakeholders in tourism sector from other parts of the country and 109 sellers from the Northeastern states are taking part in the Mart.
