It is a “great day” for Harvey Weinstein’s accusers as the Hollywood mogul has been charged guilty in a rape and sexual assault case related to two women. He has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

“This is a great day,” actress Rose McGowan was quoted as saying in a BBC report as Harvey was pronounced guilty and convicted in a third degree rape and a first degree criminal sexual case by a trial court in New York City on Monday.

Following the court verdicts, 57-year-old Harvey now faces 25 years in prison. His lawyer, however said, he will place an appeal in the court.

As many as 80 women, including Salma Hayek and Gwyneth Paltrow, have accused Harvey of sexual misconduct, according to reports.

However, despite the court’s verdict, Harvey continued to say that he was innocent.

“I’m innocent. How can this happen in America?” Weinstein said as quoted by his lawyer Arthur Aidala.
