Low-cost airline GoAir has announced that it would continue flight operations to Mizoram despite the threat of coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak and expressed “regret for the inconvenience” caused to its passengers.
GoAir decided to withdraw its earlier notification to suspend all flight operations to Mizoram amid the coronavirus scare following public appeal, according to a release issued by the state’s information and public relations department.
The budget airline would continue its operation on the Kolkata-Guwahati-Aizawl sector, the release said. The flight on the route ws launched in October 2019.
GoAir on Tuesday said it has put on hold the proposed direct flight service between Aizawl and Delhi and suspended all flights to Mizoram from March 19 till April 15 in the “interest of passengers” following the coronavirus pandemic. “In the light of the suspension order, GoAir has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the public for momentarily conveying about the cancellation of scheduled flights,” an airline official said in a report.
