COVID-19 claims four more lives; death toll climbs to 184 in Manipur

Four more people died of COVD-19 and 150 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur on Tuesday. With it, the death toll rose to 184 and the total number of confirmed cases in the state rose to 19,241, including 3.597 active cases.
As per the latest release from the COVID-19 Common Control Room, one 65-year-old female from Imphal East, 49-year-old and 71-year-old males from Imphal West and a 75-year-old male from Thoubal died at Shija and RIMS (3) Hospital respectively.
The positive cases from general population are 37 from Imphal West, 31 from Imphal East, 11 from Thoubal, foru from Kangpokpi, 19 from Bishnupur, three from Kakching, two from Senapati, eight from Churachandpur, 28 from Tamenglong, three from Tengnoupol, three from Kamjong and one from Chandel, the release stated.
All the new cases are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the Covid Care facilities. All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the release added.
The total number of discharged persons is 117, pushing the cumulative number of recovered cases to 15,460 (General Population - 12,988 and Central Security Personnel - 2,472). With it, the recovery rate is 80.34 per cent, the release stated.
Those who are in contact with COVID-19 positive person have been advised to isolate themselves. Contact Covid Control Room or CMO for testing, the health department stated.
