As countries across the world continue to combat coronavirus pandemic that has claimed 13,000 lives worldwide, singer Rihanna has donated $5 million to coronavirus response efforts.
Rihanna gave the donation through her non-profit organisation, the Clara Lionel Foundation that supports Direct Relief, Partners In Health, Feeding America, the International Rescue Committee and World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.
The relief is being provided to fight the pandemic in the US, the Caribbean and Africa. It will help to provide communities with critical protective gear, medical requirement and food, the charity said.
Rihanna joins other international celebrities such as actor Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, fashion designer Donatella Versace and her daughter Allegra Versace Beck, and Giorgio Armani among others in donating for coronavirus relief efforts.
