The HTC Moreh, KSO, Kuki Women Union and Kuki Women Union, Human Rights Moreh, MYC Moreh and the ADACC, Moreh strongly reacted against MPS Th Brinda’s behaviour in the court pertaining to the interim bail hearing of Lhukhosei Zou.

The Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh, the Kuki Students Organisation (KSO), the Kuki Women Union and Kuki Women Union, Human Rights Moreh, the Moreh Youth Club (MYC), Moreh and the Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign Committee (ADACC), Moreh have strongly reacted against MPS Th Brinda’s behaviour in the court pertaining to the interim bail hearing of Lhukhosei Zou.

A joint statement issued by organisations stated that they were also upset over the subsequent development of the case through the officers’ post in social media platforms.

They stated that Th Brinda has been successful in apprehending drugs worth hundreds of crores, has raided and destroyed brown sugar factories as an ASP of NAB, it said. Her dedication, commitment and integrity were doubted by none at that time, they stated.

“But her posts and statements in social media platforms, the premature allegations and that many accused drug lords have not been charge sheeted by NAB bring doubts to the minds of the people about the intent of Brinda,” it added.

The release further stated that it is deplorable and unexpected of a decorated officer like her to swear and use derogatory sign languages against the judiciary and the very system she represented.

The organisations fervently appeal to one and all to respect the judicial system of the country and refrain from indulging or interfering in the smooth functioning of the judicial proceedings, the release stated.

“Let the law take its own course, the accused be given a fair trial and the guilty be punished as per the law of the land in the interest of the law abiding citizens of Manipur,” it added.

The organisations further stated that other than the judiciary, taking its own course, any other interference by any individual groups, organisations etc will invite serious agitations. The HTC and subordinate bodies will not hesitate to take up any form of agitation, it added.
