Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights (KWOHR) along with Hill Tribal Council (HTC), Moreh have condemned the act of the personnel of 12 Assam Rifles posted at Khudengthabi AR post who allegedly molested a woman at Khudengthabi check point and Lokchao on the pretext of frisking and checking on November 18.
Statements from both the civil bodies alleged that a woman from M Chahnou village of Moreh was travelling in an Eeco Van bearing registration No MN 06 LA 9422 driven by one Lhunlun Chongloi, 35, of Haijan Veng Moreh, was sexually molested by the lady AR personnel.
While asserting that the alleged molestation was carried on with the victim being halt by four personnel of Khudengthabi Assam Rifles (2 ladies and 2-males) near the landslide site of Khudengthabi, the release alleged that the AR personnel whisked away the victim in a white-coloured car to an isolated place and told her to undress at gunpoint.
When the victim refused, the AR personnel forcibly undressed her and the whole episode was recorded and her private parts captured on camera by the AR personnel, it alleged.
The sexual assault was so brutal that the victim had to suffer blood passage while urinating. She was rushed and examined at Moreh Hospital where the report states injury mark at left wall and bleeding point at the right wall of her private parts, it further alleged.
KWOHR also alleged that the reported incident of sexual assault and use of criminal force against the victim with intent to outrage her modesty as a serious sexual abuse and crime against women.
KWOHR further stated the organisation will bring the matter to State and National Women Commission and Human Rights Organisations if the authority concerned fails to book the involved AR personnel at the earliest.
HTC, in its release, also warned that if the culprits do not surrender within two days, the committee will resolve to hectic agitations which might include storming the 12 AR camp.
