Church lauds Minister Nemcha Kipgen for proactive role in combating COVID-19 in Kangpokpi

“Everything with regards to achievements and success in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 in the district could happen because of the selfless act of Minister Nemcha Kipgen who exhibited in reality service to mankind is service to God,” said NS Gangte, member of KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi.

Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen, who is also in-charge Minister of Kangpokpi and Senapati for COVID-19, was lauded for her exemplary role in the ongoing pandemic COVID-19 crisis by the voluntary civil bodies frontline workers in a farewell day of catering service for returnees Saturday.

Earlier, the Kangpokpi Christian Church (KCC) took the responsibility of catering service for returnees for a month before the Kuki Baptist Convention Centre Church Kangpokpi took the responsibility for another month which will be culminated tomorrow.

The farewell catering service at KBC Centre Church Kangpokpi was attended by Somorjit Salam IAS, DC Kangpokpi, Chunglenmang Kipgen, MCS in-charge of Quarantine Centres in Kangpokpi town, member of KBC Centre Church leader including women society and youth fellowships.

“Everything with regards to achievements and success in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 in the district could happen because of the selfless act of Minister Nemcha Kipgen who exhibited in reality service to mankind is service to God,” said NS Gangte, member of KBC Centre Church, Kangpokpi.

He continued that the minister strongly advocate the spirit of service to mankind which is the service to God and instilled the spirit of community participation.

Gangte also asserted that the minister adequately provided personal protection equipments to all the frontline workers ensuring their safety while combating the deadly virus, apart from continuously conducting a review meeting with the civil frontline workers apart from the District Administration, Medical Department and District Police to ensure the safety of the people.

“We are blessed to have such a caring and committed leader especially during this pandemic health crisis” Gangte lauded.

Somorjit Salam, IAS DC Kangpokpi, also lauded the minister for her inspirational act in the fight against the pandemic in the state.

The IAS officer said that the contribution of Churches in Kangpokpi and KBC Centre Church Kangpokpi in particular, who had taken burden of catering service for one month, greatly helped the District Administration in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 and contributed Rs.10,000 in cash towards the Church as a mark of gratefulness.
