The cleanliness programme was led by vice-president (in-charge) of BJP Manipur, Kangpokpi district, Jonathan Tao and it was participated by executive member of ADC Sadar Hills, Vikas Basnet, member ADC Sadar Hills, Sagar Gewali and president of BJP Kangpokpi Mandal, Tingnei Lhouvum apart from hundreds of villagers in the area.

The BJP leaders and the villagers engaged in cleaning and renovating the deplorable road from Harup Naga to Bajagara village in Irang Part-II district council constituency.

Jonathan said that the deplorable road is the lifeline of thousands of people from more than 18 villages dwelling in the area but due to its pathetic condition people in this area are facing tremendous hardships and grievances especially during monsoon season.

He also said that people have to carry sick people from the area in a man-made stretcher to reach the hospital for treatment as the road is not motorable and many unfortunate incidents had already been witnessed in the past many years.

He further said that the social service on Gandhi Jayanti along the road is to draw the attention of the concerned department and the state government to address the plights of the people by renovating the road to make it motorable in all seasons.

Vikas Basnet on behalf of the people also drew the attention of the concerned department and state government to revamp the road at the earliest possible so that the people in the area continue to have faith in the present government.

He appealed to the state government to pressure the concerned contractor of the PMGSY road construction work along the road for early completion of the construction work in larger interest of the public.
